I realized last night that I have an intensity factor that few people in this world share and even fewer in China share.  It’s not even pure intensity as it is just the feeling that when I am doing something, I don’t like to be interrupted.  I would categorize myself as a pretty darn easy going guy, but there are certain buttons that can be pushed that initiate a fury in me that I simply cannot explain.  And like me, I think my parents and brother share this same trait. 

One of them is noise.  I cannot stand noise.  Whether it is the annoying baby crying in the Coffee Bean as I type this blog post, the click and clack of the metal overhang when its raining outside my apartment, the sound of my PC laptop hard drive hissing whenever its too busy and especially people talking while I am watching tv and movies.  Not only do I get mind crazy, but I lose focus on everything but the noise, I start to sweat, bite my nails and do everything I can to cowardly complain about the noise (other than actually confronting the person/thing making the noise).

Why is this?  How can such an easy going guy like myself, a guy who can live in China, work from his own apartment day after day with crappy Internet, no good air conditioners, lousy food and few friends get so irritated by something as trivial as noise.  Yikes!
